A Poem to Bravery - as scribed by War poet Caelius, the fabulous
The other day, late in the evening (at least to my soul it was late in the evening) the world of Terris was overrun with beasties. They attacked every major town and caused many deaths, amongst both the experienced and strong, and the inexperienced and little. Then, when the attacks were repealed within the cities, the attacks occurred in guilds. Our guild was attacked by Greater Griffins and here is my poem in regards to it.
The days of end were close at hand
Until the Wizards became a band
They took together and fought the lot
Sending out spells faster than shot
They took them all in a few blinks
Moving so fast you could not think
Filled to the brim with lots of beasts
The Wizards guild became a flesh feast
But brave and strong they stood their ground
And eight of them slaughtered.. bodies lay all around
Millamber sent the call to arms
Ashla answered.. Eolin as well
Phyr and Pshyche spelled up magic shell
Kacotka and Blackwing flung out some damage
And little Caelius watched, thowing buckets of ice
An invasion had come
The invasion is gone
Whats left is their bodies
Flung here and there
The poet knows that poems should rhyme
But when thinking on feet, one doesnt have time
Glory be, almighty the Spell
And thanks be to spellcraft, cause we did DAMN well!
Its been a while since I last felt
inspired, then then today... in a flash of lightning something hit me!
So please, use your imagination, the melody from "American Pie" and read on...
A long long time ago
I can still remember when our party went to White Cairn Crag
And I knew that if I had my chance, that I could make good experience
And maybe I could rezz things in a while
But our bad luck that day persisted
With every spell cast monsters resisted
Bad news for our quartet
We hadn’t reached the point yet.
I cant remember if I cried
When I got lagged and my haste died
But I took a big hit to my pride
The day my sorceress died
So, bye-bye Mrs. give it a try,
Some big lizard caught the wizard
And we left him to fry
Your hardens gone and your sps run dry
Hope a healer will be on when I die
Healer must be on when I die.
I think the keyboards frozen up
The barbarian’s just bought the luck
Then the lag beast let me go
Do you believe in mercy’s role?
That this may save your mortal soul?
Are you waiting for a rezzer to extol?
Suddenly we weren’t alone,
A hero brought us to his home
Yes he cut us some slack
He gave us our lives back!
I was a timid little elvish mage
But I didn’t have much wisdom for my age
I went back then to re-engage…
The day my sorceress died
They were singing:

Well the shaman headed back to town,
His sorrows he wanted to drown
Our party was cut down to three
So the halfling went out in the lead
With all the colors he might need
But the monsters came on with such speed
So then I reached for the recall ring
Which in my haste I’d forgotten to bring
But now the room was swarmed
I knew that we’d been warned
I began to think it wasn’t fair
That we’d all died again alone out there
The creatures filled us with despair
The day my sorceress died
They were singing:

Now although our party all got rezzed
We sat there feeling quite depressed
But sometimes it just goes that way
I tried to make the best of it
At least my xp went up a bit
But I didn’t make any gold that day
I hunted up and down Sword Street
Hoping there was some small quest for me
But my search didn’t pay
I didn’t know what to say
I knew I could count on my friends
To help me level up again
We went to White Cairn that weekend
And my Sorceress died
They were singing:
