Guild Ethos & Interpretations

Gizzy's thoughts on the ethos

 1. Wizards are honest, thoughtful and respectful towards others at all  times.
I beleive I talked about this extentsivly above.

2. Wizards are neither superior nor inferior to another person.
We are all equal, throught the land. We must treat one another that way. We must be helpful to one another, and respect all members of the lands.

3. Wizards practise the light side of magic. Greed and personal  advancement at the cost of others are not concepts practised by Wizards.
While it is nice to garner rewards for yourself, it is important to  look out for those who are not as lucky as you. It is important to help when you can. We are not warlocks.

4. Wizards are committed to learning and perfecting the Art of Magic.
The advancement of magic for the good of the lands is a key role of any  wizard. We must do what we can to perfect existing Magic skills, as well as  find ways to understand new ones.

5. Wizards are urged to become friends with all in the Guild. We unite under a common name and purpose. Together, as comrades, we shall further everyone's understanding and satisfaction of the World.
My fellow guildmates are people who I trust and rely on for my life. Without them, there is no purpose for me in these lands. We must bring together all the new members with the older memebers and create one family of wizards.

6. A Wizard's Family is the Guild. You live, and perhaps die, for them
see above.

7. Wisdom is the greatest asset a Guild can have. Through Wisdom and  knowledge, comes power. The power to assist all those around us. Wizards are encouraged to learn from each other, to support each others quests for knowledge.
I have learned a great many things from my fellow mages in our guild.  This knowledge I have begun sharing with those who need it, and I hope I can do that with greater abilities as a GL

8. Wizards know that the experience is best gained through personal achievement or co-operation within a group. Experience "earned" by hanging on to someone's coattails may increase your abilities but not your Wisdom.
Many of us have had help adavancing through our years in the lands, and with that we can take great knowledge away with us. But it is very important to learn lessons when gaining those abilities, and not just allowing people to accomplish things for us.

9. A Wizard shall not inhibit another wizard's opportunity at achieving wisdom by giving out quest answers, though vauge hints to the weary adventurer are permitted.
It is not productive to solve quests for someone so that can learn a new spell, but it is much more important to help them succeed on there own. Tips on this is helpful, but we do not hold members by the hand and show them want to be done.

10. Wizards do their best to support the Guild and its members, providing The Wizard's Ethos is not broken in the process. Wizards are encouraged to share their ideas for and with the Guild.
Any member can contribute to the guild, weather they are a leader or a brand new member. All opinions should be listened to and considered.

11. Wizards air their grievances within the confines of the Guild. Public displays of disunity do not advance the guild and do not rectify the situation. A civilised meeting with Patrons and Leaders will solve difficulties far more effectively.
If there is a problem take it up with one of your leaders, we do not need others involed in issues pertaining to the guild.

12. The Ethos is the summation of a way of life, not hard and fast rules. A Wizard interprets the above and applies its spirit, not its word.
Follow these guildlines to the best of your abilities to succeed as a Wizard, and as a member of this great land.
