Dragon Alliance

In the realms of Terris, there are dozens of species of Dragons. Some of these dragons are tamed but most are not. These rogue dragons usually are willing to attack any mage and at any cost. The Dragons alliance generally must be patient and see past these violent natures. Our Alliance members are made up of mages who have developed a natural bond or affinity with healing, helping and cohabitating with Dragons.

Though sometimes Dragons do not wish for help, and only want to wreak havok on civilization or the lands around them. We do not outwardly wish to stand against them, but occasionally it is needed to hunt a group of dragons' to either keep population down or to stop menacing ones from harming innocents. In the Dragons' alliance we have a few ranks that catagorize the level of knowledge and expertise of the Dragon members. The Initial rank and any member of the Dragons alliance is a Dragon Friend, After a person has been an active member for some time they may choose to pursue a trait or expertise where they can develop in a certain area.

-
Dragon Keeper, and Caretaker, takes charge of keeping the Dragons' eggs. They clean and be sure that the rookeries are well maintained.
-
Dragon Rider is a member who defends the guild against rogue dragons or fights against invasions while always being mounted upon their Dragon.
-
Dragon Lord is a member of the regional Dragon program that stations Dragon Alliance members in certain areas around the realms where they can aide the guild by spreading knowledge of dragons and helping different types of dragons that otherwise would not be helped.

Wizards in general spend their lives in the pursuit of knowledge, the Dragon Alliance program will attempt to give us a profound understanding with those we live with. If you have any questions about the Regional Dragon Caretakers program, or wish to join our ranks, please Contact Gaiea or the Dragon Queen for further details.

Dragon Keeper's and Caretaker - Heart of the Alliance

In Devardec and in a couple other places in the Realms, the Wizard's guild has protected species of Dragons. Mages have put it to their lives work to aide these Dragons by tending to wounds, teaching, and hatching of the eggs.
Due to the precise science of hatching an egg, the Wizard's have built structures dedicated to aiding a Dragon mother in the hatching of her children. These buildings are called Rookeries. Inside the rookery there are special areas set aside for newborn dragons to learn skills that will be needed throughout their lives. Each rookery has mages of two ranks, the Caretaker and the Keepers.

The Caretaker of the rookery takes charge, dishing out the orders, treating dragons and being sure that the Rookery is well maintained. The Caretaker spends most of their time with the Dragons and generally stays near the rookery so that in case of emergency they may be able to conceive the dragon to life or mend broken wings.

The Keepers, newer and generally younger mages who have either an avid interest or a passion for watching the birthing of Dragons or have the respect and kindness to aide a dying dragon to his final resting place. The Keepers learn from the Caretaker and are responsible for carrying out orders and being servants of the Dragons.

Keepers also learn much about aviation, they have patience with dragons and teach the younger dragons how to grow to uphold the traditional beliefs held by their clans. Keepers raise the dragons through life and prepare them to be met with a mage when they have grown to be old enough.

Dragon Riders, Dragonslayers, Alliances' fists.

Each Guild structure, outpost, rookery or guild walls are sometimes targets of invasions or targets of hatred and fury. The Dragons' Alliance has taken it upon itself to set up a inner group of mages who specialize in Dragon Riding. These Dragon Riders have a lust for peace won through battle.

Dragon Riders protect the Guild from dragons but are sometimes called out across the realms to aide villages or outposts in slaying rogue dragons that only carry dark emotions in their hearts.Dragon Riders mainly tend to keep to their rookery or fellow Dragon Alliance members when not called to battle, in this way they are careful not to step upon the War Council's toes when going about things. While not in battle, these members are usually in constant training to better themselves for future fights. Dragon Riders also must learn how to heal or tend to any would they or their Dragons may come across in a fight, so wise Riders spend much time with the Dragon Keepers.

Masters of Arial battle, these Alliance members feel most comfortable in air so always fight their battles against invasions upon their loyal lifemates. Riders know many dragonlore secrets and share a particular bond with their dragons, an understanding and trust that when in battle their lives are in eachothers hands.

Dragon's Regional program, the Alliances' arms.

The purpose of the Dragon Regions is to study and learn about different Dragons. Region members catalogue information, lore and perhaps myths about different dragons, they also do their best to befriend and help the Dragons through spreading understanding to fellow mortals about certain dragons' or healing the Creature's with herblore or binding spells. By spreading mages around to different regions it is thought that we can help different dragons and learn new things that we would not by staying in one city or location. By venturing far into the wild areas of the realms we can spread the word of Dragons and knowledge of them to less civilized or understanding parts of Norland.

Ideally there will be two people at each region, a Dragon Lord, and his apprentice, occasionally there will be more than one apprentice, and occasionally Dragon Lord will be moved if they become inactive or let an apprentice succeed them.
-
A Dragon Lord is someone who is proficient in the ways of regions and knows how to deal with the Dragons and people in the area, someone who has become renowned within the Alliance for their work. They will teach an apprentice to learn more about the Alliance and to show them how to take care of a region.
-
An apprentice is someone who has just joined the Alliance, they study the ways of the alliance under a Dragonlord and care for a regeion. Apprentices are expected to write journal logs or post events that signify that they are learning under their Dragonlord. After some time they may grow to be Dragonlords of a certain region where they will take on an apprentice
