Name:
Corona (Affectionately known as Smudge)
Race:
Powerful Yellow Dragon
Class:
Fire-Breather
Citizenship:
Tranos
Bonded:
2nd Awakenings 196
Personal history:
Dragged kicking and smoking from the comfort of the Dragon Roost by
Mystikdreamer - who seemed to find amusement in the business of bonding a
fantastic creature such as a dragon with something no bigger than a flying
snack. Early months of the partnership did not go well, with several incidents
including the ‘accidental’ burning of the stables in Tranos and the Wizards
Guild and an escape attempt thwarted by Joya.
All subsequent attempts to get returned to the roost failed until
one fateful incident resulted in the serious injury of the Wizard Sprite.
Instead of giving up on her dragon companion, she collected him from the stables
as soon as she was able and (having given up any ideas about training) simply
let him do as he pleased. It wasn’t long before Smudge found that life with his
Sprite was far more exciting (and full of treats) than life without her and the
two have been inseperable ever since.
Favourite food:
Cake. Cookies. Fudge.
Favourite Drink:
Guinness.
Pet hate:
Having it pointed out that he’s yellow and afraid of heights (and water)
Hobbies:
Getting his sprite owner away from the crime scene, Helping himself to anything
edible that he fancies, getting banned from stables..
Their Thoughts – from 60 years ago, but still true today :
Learning about Dragon Love
Very loud thunder with so much smoke,
And a flash that tells me a dragon's been woke.
The smoke starts to clear, but was that a groan?
That's the first I knew that a dragon could moan....
Mystik then tells the magnificent beast
"this sprite wants a dragon, she's not here to eat!"
The dragon appraises me, looks up and down
The first time I saw that a dragon could frown...
I
know i'm not much, no impressive sight,
I'm all of 6 inches, no great height!
And the way he looks at me, gives me a fright
Well i already knew that a dragon could bite...
Mystik says something (in dragon, i think)
A mischievous twinkle appears, then a wink
The darn beastie licks me, gives me a bath!
It was then that I learned that a dragon could laugh....
Under years of dirt and dust and grime,
The dragon's bright yellow, I bet he could shine
So I say that for sunshine, I'd name him - CARONA
I witness my first laughing dragon fall over!
We venture together, out in the world,
He doesn't quite trust me, ignores every word..
In one fit of temper, his breath makes me fry
He sees what he's done, and then starts to cry...
Well I'm pieced back together, bit by bit
Recovery's slow cos I took quite a hit!
The dragon is stabled throughout this time,
I really didn't expect him to pine....
The stable lad tells me, he's been very sad
Upset the owner and made him mad...
Well my dragon is different, I try to explain
I hated to think of my dragon in pain....
As I take him away from that uncaring place
Back together, our future to face
He thought I would leave him for what he'd done,
As I hug him, he Smiles, his very first one...
I
guess being owned by a sprite can be tough..
More so for a beast that likes to play rough!
Years have since passed, many more to come
My dragon now Loves me, He's second to none!
Learning about Sprite Love
The roost was always safe and warm,
A place that a dragon was proud to call home
I’d spend my days just playing and eating,
I’d never imagined what horror was waiting..
All of a sudden, I’m surrounded by smoke
The roost disappears through space at a stroke
On landing, quite giddy, the world is still spinning
I groan as I try to stop blackness from winning.
All dragons at home know they’re fated to be
The pride of a wizard, tis written you see.
We put our trust in the heavens above,
To find us a carer, someone we can love
Imagine my fear as Mystik explained,
Today was the day, that I’d been claimed
I peered about but no wizard could see,
Just a small flying snack, was it for me?
Well the shock was quite something, that’s no flying snack!
That small buzzing insect was to ride on my back!
Well I think to myself, “of this pest I’ll be rid”
And then I’ll head home, and back to my bed.
Well twasn’t so easy as I’d first thought,
She’s really quite stubborn and brave all in all
Every trick I tried, she was one step ahead
But she never got angry, at least I was fed!
Her antics amused me, the stunts that she pulls
Twas a pleasure to be a part of it all..
The mischief created but never with malice..
Escaping the scene, always a challenge
I guess what I’m saying is its not so bad
A 6-inch owner that never gets mad
Always forgiving, always fun..
You really could say that this dragon has won!
